Ecommerce Staffing with Agency Experience Behind It

Since 2018 we have worked on both sides of hiring: running a digital agency and recruiting for them. That experience shapes how we find, vet, and support every person we place.

Our DNA

We Understand What Agencies Need

Hiring the right people is one of the hardest parts of running an agency. A strong hire protects your client relationships. A weak one puts them at risk.

With a recruiting team based in Medellín, Colombia, and a network across Latin America, we connect ecommerce and Shopify agencies with developers, designers, and specialists who have been assessed on the work agencies actually do: client communication, deadlines, and real ecommerce projects. Agencies gain reliable, skilled team members with low hiring risk, and LATAM professionals gain access to international careers.

Our Mission

We Develop Talent, Not Just Place It

Education is central to how we work. We identify high-potential professionals across Latin America and train them in the skills ecommerce teams need most, from Shopify development to agency-style project management. Support continues after placement: every person we place receives ongoing training and coaching, so the team member you hire keeps growing with your business. This long-term approach is a key reason our placements stay.

Trusted by Ecommerce Agencies Across the US, Canada & Europe

From boutique Shopify studios to full-service digital agencies, teams rely on us to staff the roles that keep client work moving.

Hiring in Latin America: Common Questions

How much does it cost to hire ecommerce talent from Latin America?

Hiring in Latin America can be 60 to 70% cheaper or less than in Canada or the US for the same level of experience. There are no recruitment fees or payroll setup on your side: one monthly rate covers sourcing, vetting, contracts, payroll, and compliance. Book a call for current rates by role and seniority.

How do I pay remote employees in Latin America?

There are several options: international bank wires, platforms like Wise, Payoneer, or Deel, or local payroll providers. Each has limitations. Some platforms are restricted or unreliable in certain countries, currency controls can complicate transfers in others, and wire fees and exchange rates add up. Meraki Solutions already has payment channels set up across Latin America, so through our outsourcing model you pay one invoice and we make sure your team member gets paid correctly in their country.

Do I need a legal entity to hire in Latin America?

No. Most agencies hire LATAM talent under a contractor model, which requires no local entity. And if you prefer not to manage any of it, our outsourcing model means Meraki handles the engagement entirely, so you have no entity, contract, or payroll to set up.

What kind of contract do I use when hiring someone abroad?

The standard approach is a contractor agreement, similar to hiring a freelancer or contractor in your own country. If you hire through our recruitment service, we can guide you on the contract. Through our outsourcing model, Meraki takes care of the contract entirely and your team member works with you day to day.

Who handles taxes and compliance for international hires?

Under a contractor model, the contractor is responsible for their own local taxes. Rules vary by country, which is where agencies often get stuck. Through our outsourcing model, Meraki manages compliance on our side, so you do not have to navigate local regulations.

Do we need to provide computers or equipment?

No. Our team members use their own computers. You only pay for any specific tools, programs, or licenses you need them to use.

Will my team member be changed or swapped out after a few months?

No. Our goal is for your team member to stay with you as long as you need them. Some of our people have been with the same company for over three years. Long-term fit is the whole point of our vetting.

What happens if a team member underperforms?

We step in and help with a plan to get them back on track. If it still is not working, you have the option of changing to another team member better suited to your company. We understand that sometimes things are not how they seemed in the interview, or your needs turn out to be different.

What if our needs change and the role is no longer needed, or the role changes?

That happens, and it is fine. We can swap that person for someone better suited to the new role, or scale the engagement down. You are not locked into a role that no longer fits your business.
